Hello, world!

Hi, I’m Jul – just a millennial who somehow ended up with a house full of candles. Seriously, they were and still are everywhere. But let’s rewind a little…

Candlemaking started as a simple hobby for me. A few years ago, I hit a point where I needed to step back from work and take a break. Burnout is real. I was looking for something that would help me relax and do something creative. That’s when I poured my first candle. I had no idea what I was doing but the process itself was soothing – melting the wax, choosing a scent, carefully pouring into the jar. It was oddly therapeutic, like a small ritual of calm in the middle of chaos.

Then I made another one. And another. Soon, I had more candles than I knew what to do with. And that’s when someone said “You should sell them.” At first, I backed out. Me? Selling candles? But the idea stuck. So, last spring I was not only making candles for fun but I actually started building a small business around them.

Why This Blog?

Fast-forward to today, I’m deep in the world of wax, wicks and fragrance oils. I’ve spent hours testing different materials, chasing the perfect scent and making a ton of mistakes along the way. That’s the fun part, right? Learning, improving and creating something beautiful. I started this blog because I wanted a space to share everything I’ve learned – the good, the bad and the accidentally spilled wax all over the kitchen counter. Whether you’re a fellow candle maker, a small business owner, or just someone who loves a good scented candle, I hope you find something useful here. This blog is going to be about:

✔️ Candle testing – because I can’t stop experimenting with waxes, fragrances and jars
✔️ Tips & tricks – things I wish I knew when I started
✔️ Fails & lessons learned – because we all mess up and that’s okay!
✔️ Behind the scenes of running a small candle business – the highs, the lows and everything in between

Oh, and a fun fact? My maiden name actually means “Chandler” in my language – a.k.a. a candle maker. My great-grandfather was making candles and soap over 100 years ago. So maybe this whole thing was meant to be.

If you love candles as much as I do, stick around! Let’s test, create and learn together. ❤
